Cathy Shull is Discover Rural and a rural advocate. She believes that tourism can help this wonderful section of the state. There are a lot of cool day trip destinations in Northeastern Colorado. Many of these smaller cities & towns have unique festivals and events that people from the front range can easily access and enjoy.
Cathy was raised in Northeastern Colorado just like her grandparents and parents – this is her home. This is a forgotten part of the state with so much to offer. Colorado is not just the Rocky Mountains…We have beauty, history, and great people in the plains too.
She bought into a franchise to help promote Northeastern Colorado and has made it her own. Cathy’s vision for this website is to make sure that this area is promoted as there is currently no single site with information in a single spot.
Local residents can also benefit from this site because they don’t always know the unique things going on around them. Discover Northeast Colorado is designed to Educate, Inform, and Excite!
Shopping in rural communities helps the local economy by supporting the unique mom & pop stores. Shoppers can find authentic, novel, and unique products that the “big box stores” do not have in a relaxing setting.
The Main Street stores that you remember from days gone by are often reinvented and need to be rediscovered as the gems that they are. There are always opportunities to experience the local culture and interact with local residents, too.
Social media in Cathy’s viewpoint is not meant to replace traditional newspapers. She wants to help promote many of the nonprofit businesses.
Many of the nationally recognized chains can be found in Northeastern Colorado towns along with many bed & breakfast locations which welcome you to stay and enjoy their towns.
Eating local hometown cooking is always an exciting opportunity to learn more about each of the Northeastern Colorado towns. We also have many nationally recognized chain restaurants.
Discover Rural is a Premier Events and Business Directory for rural communities in parts of Colorado, Nebraska and Wyoming. We would like to thank our advertisers for their support which makes this possible.
